Our Story

We fell in love with Woolacombe

Our family have been visiting Woolacombe for the last 70 years and every time we arrive it feels like we are home.

As children our Grandparents and Parents had caravans at Hele Bay and Woolacombe over the years.
My parents spent their honeymoon here, arriving on the train at Woolacombe station with their Vespa onboard, they had a little caravan as a wedding present and lived on Jam Sandwiches when their money ran out.

We have such wonderful childhood memories here so when we had our children, we wanted to give them the same gift and used my Grandfather's legacy to buy a caravan at Twitchen Park in Mortehoe. When the HSBC bank closed and it came on the market it was a no brainer for us and we spent a year transforming it back into a much loved house.

We hope you will enjoy the house as much as we do and love being in the heart of the village and only moments away from the beach.

We hire a beach hut for some of the summer holidays and this is available for May half term
and school Summer holiday bookings.

Our Favourite Things To Do

Surfing, Body Boarding, Paddle Boarding, Low Tide Leap, Curry on Barricane Beach, Dinner at the Beach House, BBQs outside the beach hut, Cocktails or Cream Tea on the terrace at the Woolacombe Bay Hotel, Flying our kites, the walk to the Porthole Cafe at the top of the sand dunes where we have coffee and cake overlooking the bay. Watching movies in the Woolacombe Bay Hotel Neo Cinema, Visits to Wacky Watermouth Castle & Theme Park, Riding Stables, fish and chips on the harbour in Ilfracombe followed by home made fudge ......... I could go on and on
